Journals on English Literature and Linguistics in India

Following are some of the acadmeic journals on English studies (literture, lingusitics and other subjects taught in English literature depts in India.) I request the visitors/readers of the blog to contribute to making this list exhustive.     The exam we just answered was great- got introduced to a new format of answering it. The strict rules of not writing more than 75 words (even that havin a chance to scoore between 5 to 8) and negative marking in case word limit is exceeded was a fresh experience. Thanks for exposing to this innovative writing style.

    one journal titled 'The Expression' is being published from Raebareli (Feroz Gandhi College). Its chief editor is Dr. Ashok Kumar, Head of English Deptt. Three volumes of this journal have seen the light of the day. it is annual, its ISSN is - 0975-1394. its a journal of literary and critical studies.

    i once saw an online jounral that was dedicated to victorian/nineteenth century literature and had only indian writers. it also publishes creative writing like poems/stories etc. i cannot seem to find it now- are u aware of any such journal?

  36. Dear Anonymous, Language in India claims it is is a refereed journal. Generally a non-peer reviewed journal does not carry much respect among the scholarly community, as academic is built on the principal of peers setting standards. Although just because a journal is not-peer reviewed does not not mean it's a sub-standard journal, a non-peer reviewed journal generally fails on quality parameters.
